Porsche 911 GT3 Touring

The GT3 Touring is the GT3 built for driving on the road, and the road is where stones come from. This black Touring was protected in full.

Every painted panel was covered in Defcon Glanz clear gloss PPF. On a 911 the front bumper, the bonnet and the wide rear haunches take the most hits, and the haunches catch grit thrown back by the front tyres. Glanz keeps the black as deep as it was and takes those hits instead of the paint.

The 911’s curves leave little room for joins, so the film was laid in large pieces and wrapped around the panel edges, keeping lines out of sight on the bonnet and around the headlights. The Porsche crest on the bonnet sits under the film.

At the same visit, the windows were tinted with nano-ceramic film, chosen for the glass to stay within WA’s legal limits, and the film was coated with Labocosmetica Armorius so the gloss surface stays slick and easy to wash.

The car was in the studio for five to seven working days.
