Terms and conditions
These terms apply when you book, or we carry out, any service at MAS Project. This includes paint protection film, colour PPF, ceramic coating, window tinting, vinyl wrapping, paint correction, paintless dent removal and detailing. By confirming a booking, you agree to these terms.
1. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Major failure with a service: you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
- Major failure with goods: you are entitled to choose a refund or a replacement.
- Failure that is not major: if a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have it rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion.
- Other loss: you are also entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights.
2. Quotes
- A quote is based on the vehicle, the coverage and the products we discuss with you. It is valid for 30 days.
- If we find something on inspection that changes the work, we will tell you and agree a revised price before we continue. Examples include previous resprays, existing film, deep defects, or a different model or trim.
3. Bookings, deposits and changes
- A booking is confirmed when we confirm it in writing and any deposit stated in your quote is paid. The deposit is taken off your final invoice.
- Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel. With that notice, we move your booking or refund your deposit in full. If you cancel with less notice or do not arrive, we may keep the deposit to cover the studio time we set aside.
- The time we expect your vehicle to be in the studio is an estimate. Curing, weather and what we find on inspection can change it. We will keep you updated.
4. Drop-off, inspection and your vehicle’s condition
- At drop-off, we inspect and photograph the vehicle with you and record any existing damage. This includes stone chips, scratches, dents, paint defects, previous repairs, and windscreen or glass damage.
- Please remove valuables and personal items. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle, except where loss is caused by our negligence.
- Please tell us about any aftermarket parts, previous resprays, touch-ups or existing films or coatings. These can affect how products bond and how they can later be removed.
5. Paint and surface limitations
- Protection films and coatings sit on top of your existing paint. They do not repair defects underneath. Chips, scratches and swirl marks remain visible unless paint correction is part of the job.
- Resprayed, repaired or poorly bonded paint, and some factory paint, can lift when film is removed or repositioned. If we identify this risk, we will discuss it with you before we start.
- Paint correction removes a small amount of clear coat. Some defects are too deep to remove safely, and we will tell you when that is the case.
6. Window tinting and the law
- We only fit window film that meets the Western Australian limits in the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014, r. 260. In summary:
- windscreen: no film, except a band across the top
- side windows: at least 35% light transmittance
- rear glazing: at least 20%, if the vehicle has a mirror on each side
- reflectance: no more than 10%
- If you ask for a darker film than the law allows, we will not fit it.
7. Curing, collection and aftercare
- Films and coatings need time to cure. We will give you written aftercare instructions. Following them protects your warranty.
- Please collect the vehicle by the agreed time. If it is not collected within one working week of our telling you it is ready, and you have not arranged a longer stay with us beforehand, a storage fee applies for each further day. The fee is listed under Deposits and storage fee below.
- If a vehicle is not collected within 30 days of our notice that it is ready, we may deal with it under the law of Western Australia that applies to uncollected goods. Before taking any step, we will contact you using the details you gave us.
8. Product warranties
- Many products we fit carry a manufacturer’s warranty. Its length and conditions depend on the product and are set by the manufacturer. Where registration is needed, we will register the warranty and give you the details.
- A manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. It does not replace them.
- Manufacturer warranties usually do not cover damage from accidents, impacts, improper washing, chemicals, or work done by others. The manufacturer’s terms apply.
- For vinyl wrap films, see Wrap film warranties below for each brand side by side.
9. Payment
- Payment is due on collection, before the vehicle is released. The payment methods we accept are shown on your invoice.
- We issue a tax invoice for every job.
- The vehicle is released once the invoice is paid, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
10. Photos of your vehicle
- We photograph vehicles for inspection records and quality control.
- We only use photos of your vehicle in our marketing with your consent. In those photos we blur or crop number plates and faces, unless you ask us to show them.
11. Liability
- Subject to section 1, we are responsible for loss or damage to your vehicle caused by our negligence while it is in our care.
- We are not responsible for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or by pre-existing conditions recorded at inspection.
12. Privacy
We handle your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our work, please contact us first using the details at the end of these terms. We will respond within 5 business days. If we cannot resolve it, you can contact Consumer Protection WA.
14. General
- These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia.
- We may update these terms. The version that applies is the one published when your booking was confirmed.
Wrap film warranties
The table shows the film manufacturer's warranty for Perth conditions. We have rounded each figure down to whole years. Most makers count Perth as a hot climate, which shortens the cover.
| Film and finish | Vertical panels | Horizontal panels |
|---|---|---|
| Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film (SW900) | ||
| Black and white | 5 years | Not covered |
| Colours, metallic and pearlescent | 4 years | Not covered |
| SW900X textured and ColorFlow | 2 years | Not covered |
| Gold-flake metallic and Diamond Line | 1 year | Not covered |
| 3M Wrap Film Series 2080 | ||
| All colours (except Gloss Silver Chrome GC451) | 6 years | 1 year |
| Arlon Premium Colour Change | ||
| Black, white and colours | 4 years | 1 year |
| Pearl and metallic | 1 year | 6 months |
| Inozetek Super Gloss | ||
| All colours* | 3 years | 6 months |
| KPMF and Orafol | ||
| All films† | Ask us | |
* Inozetek: the film must be fitted by an authorised installer and registered within 30 days, on factory clear coat 8 years old or newer.
† KPMF and Orafol publish an expected durability for their films, not a warranty. We will explain what to expect for your film with your quote.
- This is the film manufacturer's warranty, not ours. Each maker defines horizontal panels differently. As a guide, bonnets, roofs and boot lids count as horizontal.
- The warranties do not cover abrasion, scratches or gloss loss from wear, damage from solvent or petroleum-based cleaners, or wax used on matte or satin film.
- The figures are subject to confirmation by the manufacturer and may change. The terms that apply are those published by the manufacturer for your film.
- Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (section 1) are not affected.
Our workmanship warranty
We guarantee our installation for 12 months from when you pick up your vehicle.
- What it covers: lifting, edge or corner lift, bubbles, and edge or seam failure caused by our installation. We repair or re-apply the affected panel at no charge.
- What it does not cover: impact, scratches or stone chips; automatic car washes or high-pressure spraying close to the film; unsuitable cleaners; paint defects that were there before, or resprayed paint; and fading or ageing of the film, which the film manufacturer's warranty covers.
- Conditions: follow our care instructions, tell us within 14 days of noticing an issue, and bring the vehicle in for us to inspect.
- Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (section 1) are not affected.
Deposits and storage fee
Your written quote states the deposit for the work, if one applies. Paying it confirms your booking, and it comes off your final invoice.
Storage fee: $250 for each day a finished vehicle stays with us after one working week, unless a longer stay was agreed with us beforehand.
