How much does a ceramic coating cost in Perth?
At our studio, a Gtechniq ceramic coating package costs from $1,499 with the wash, clay treatment and paint correction, including GST, and the longer-lasting Crystal Serum Ultra with EXOv5 from $1,799. On paint that needs no correction, the coating on its own costs less, and we price it after seeing the car.

Why there are two prices for each coating
A coating seals in whatever is underneath it, so the paint has to be right first. On most cars that have been washed for a few years, that means paint correction to take out swirls and light scratches, and that is the larger part of the work.
If the paint is already in good shape, such as a new car or one that has just been corrected, you pay only for the wash, clay treatment and coating. We tell you which one your car needs after looking at the paint under the studio lights.
Five years or nine
Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light lasts five years with proper care and carries a five-year warranty. Crystal Serum Ultra with an EXOv5 top layer lasts nine years and carries a nine-year warranty.
Spread over its life, the nine-year package costs about $200 a year, against about $300 a year for the five-year package. If you are keeping the car, the longer coating is the better buy; if you change cars every few years, the five-year coating covers that time for less up front.
What else changes the price
Two cars on the same coating can still be quoted differently:
- The size of the car. A large SUV or 4WD has more paint to prepare and coat than a hatch.
- The state of the paint. Deep swirls may need more than a one-stage correction, which we quote after seeing the car.
- Wheels and glass. Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour on the wheels and G1 ClearVision Smart Glass on the glass are priced with your quote, and come included from Stage 3 of our new car protection packages.
- Paint protection film. Film on the car is coated with Labocosmetica Armorius instead, priced on the area of film.
Comparing coating quotes
A cheap coating can be a quick wipe-on product over unprepared paint. Before you compare prices, ask each installer:
- Which coating is it, by brand and product name?
- How many layers, and is there a top coat?
- Is the paint corrected first, and how many stages?
- How long is it rated for, and is there a warranty?
- What aftercare or yearly service is there, and what does it cost?
What it costs to keep it working
A coating needs regular hand washing with a pH-neutral shampoo, or a touchless car wash. Once a year we offer an annual coating service: a full decontamination wash and a fresh ceramic sealant layer.

Correction is the slow part of the job, and a coating locks in the paint as it is. Our packages include it; coating only is for paint that does not need it.
Is there a yearly cost?
