Why before the first wash
New cars are rarely perfect on delivery. Transport and dealer washes often leave fine marks, and the paint has not yet been decontaminated. Doing the preparation and protection first means the coating and film seal a clean, refined finish rather than locking in those marks.
New paint does not need full paint correction, so these packages use a gloss enhancement polish instead. That is why they start lower than a ceramic coating on a used car, which includes correction.
