Not every job is a full car. This 991 GT3 RS came in for gloss PPF on specific panels: the doors, the roof, the rear quarters, the rear bumper and the taillights. We used Defcon Glanz gloss PPF throughout.
The rear quarters and rear bumper on a GT3 RS sit right behind wide rear tyres, which throw grit back at the bodywork. The doors take car park knocks, and the roof faces the sun all day. Film on those panels takes that wear instead of the paint.
Gloss film keeps the orange as bright as it came from the factory. Once it was fitted, we coated the film with Gtechniq HALO, a coating made for film. It helps the surface shed water and dirt, so washing a car this shape is quicker.
It is a good example of coverage chosen around how a car is actually used.
