Mercedes-AMG GT S

This AMG GT S was gloss grey. It is now satin, without a drop of paint. We covered the whole car in Defcon Frozen satin PPF, which turns gloss paint into a soft, low-sheen finish and protects it at the same time.

Satin film changes how the car reads. Reflections soften, and the long bonnet and wide rear haunches show their shape more clearly under light.

The lights were treated differently. Satin film over a headlight would dull the lens, so the headlights and taillights were covered in Defcon Glanz gloss PPF instead. They stay clear and bright, and they are still protected from stone chips.

Underneath, the factory gloss grey is untouched. If the owner ever wants the gloss back, the satin film can be removed.

Satin film also hides fine wash marks better than gloss paint does, which makes a grey car like this easier to keep looking even. Care is simple: wash with a clean mitt and a pH-neutral shampoo, and skip waxes, which can leave shiny patches on satin film.
